Casey started her career by earning a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2003. While there, she worked as a student athletic trainer with the women’s athletic department and travelled with the Lady Vols basketball team. Upon graduation, Casey became a certified athletic trainer, moved to Nashville, and started her sports medicine career covering athletic teams at a local high school. She has since worked with other local orthopedic surgeons and outpatient rehabilitation clinics, taking care of a diverse population of patients from “weekend warriors” to professional athletes. Casey herself danced with regional ballet companies throughout high school and college giving her first -hand experience of the role of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
In May of 2017, Casey graduated Volunteer State Community College transitioning her career to a state licensed physical therapist assistant (PTA). During her final clinical affiliation, Casey spent several weeks as a student PTA at Nashville Hip Institute at TOA learning the ins and outs of the hip and pelvis. Casey has a passion for seeing patients through from start to finish and takes pride in all the success and milestones, big and small in the clinic. Ken joined the NHI team in June 2018. Ken began his journey into PT in a different fashion, graduating from the University of Tennessee with a degree in philosophy and a minor in Geology. Prior to attending physical therapy school he was a member of the United States Air Force but had to give up this dream due to injury. In part due to his own battles with physical injury, Ken was drawn to the Physical Therapy profession. He ultimately graduated from Belmont University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and began practicing in Frisco, TX as a member of the EXOS Performance Physical Therapy team.
Ken has worked with athletes of all levels and types from Olympic athletes to professionals; juniors to masters. He practices a holistic, integrative functional approach to movement and exercise as well as a thoroughly hands-on approach to resolving pain and restoring performance. Ken is certified in Integrative Dry Needling and incorporates a variety of other clinical tools into practice including, but not limited to IASTM, functional range conditioning (FRC®), and blood flow restriction.
Personally, Ken has practiced Bikram and Vinyasa yoga for several years as well as participating in CrossFit and MMA. He is a Nashville native and enjoys spending time with his wife Kate and their 3 dogs. Fun fact…Ken also competes at the National and International level in the cooperative board game, “Pandemic” and was the National Champion in both 2015 and 2016!
