Meet Dr. Byrd and Dr. Ferguson
The Nashville Hip Institute was founded with the collaboration of Dr. J.W. Thomas Byrd and Dr. Tania Ferguson, merging more than forty years of experience managing complex hip disorders with advanced surgical techniques. Combining Dr. Byrd’s pioneering work in hip arthroscopy with Dr. Ferguson’s expertise in “open” treatments for hip preservation surgery (PAO, Hip Dislocation) and reconstruction procedures, these world-renowned surgeons offer cutting edge diagnostic and treatment approaches to patients with hip pain from virtually any cause, at any age.

Our Mission
The Mission of the Nashville Hip Institute is to aid those whose lives are disrupted by painful hip conditions. This ranges from improving the quality of life associated with daily activities to optimizing performance for those engaged in physically demanding pursuits. This is accomplished through a comprehensive clinical team approach, emphasizing patient education, prevention and treatment; further propagated through research and education of health care providers to touch as many lives as possible across the globe.
