Schedule an Appointment:

Hip problems tend to be both under-diagnosed and over-diagnosed.  Each patient’s circumstances can be unique; and we try to tailor the visit to each person’s needs. Some patients just want to pop in for a visit, simply with the purpose of getting things started; and this is something we can usually accommodate in short order.

Please keep in mind that for patients who travel long distances or have a complex history of hip problems; there may be much work that needs to be done prior to the visit to insure that the trip will be as meaningful as possible. Typically, this can involve gathering together all the previous medical records and imaging (x-rays, scans, etc.). These are essential to make sure your day is properly organized: Whether it is just seeing a healthcare provider, or whether other diagnostic tests are needed, or whether a physical therapy evaluation is in order. This way, we can best assure that by the end of the visit a properly based plan has been developed. We do not want to unnecessarily retrace steps that have already been taken; and understanding exactly what has been done previously can help streamline care.

Collecting all the pertinent information prior to your visit can take time, a lot of work on our part, as well as your cooperation. We’ve been at this for a while, and understand how frustrating it can be to get here and end up with an incomplete strategy on your behalf because of incomplete information.

We cannot fix everything, but we strive to make sure that we are able to provide as meaningful a perspective as possible on some component of your difficulties.

Appointment No-shows & Cancellations:

As a courtesy to our office as well as to those patients who are waiting to schedule with the physician, please give us at least 24 hours notice. We schedule our appointments so that each patient receives the right amount of time to be seen by our physicians and staff. This is why it is very important that you keep your scheduled appointment with us, and arrive on time. As a courtesy, and to help patients remember their scheduled appointments, NHI sends text message and email reminders in advance of the appointment time. If your schedule changes and you cannot keep your appointment, please contact us (615-284-5800 by phone or text) so we may reschedule you, and accommodate those patients who are waiting for an appointment.

If you do not cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice, we may assess a “no-show” service charge to your account. This “no-show charge” is not reimbursable by your insurance company. You will be billed directly for it. After three consecutive no-shows to your appointment, our practice may decide to terminate its relationship with you.
