Dr. Byrd Attends NFL Scouting Combine

Last week, Dr. Byrd was at the NFL Scouting Combine. It is a week-long showcase occurring every February in Indianapolis. This is a chance for selected college football players to perform physical and mental tests in front of the National Football League coaches, general managers, and scouts. Every athlete participant also gets an orthopaedic exam by each team (can you imagine that many people tugging and pulling on you?!). This is why Dr Byrd along with the other Titan team physicians were there. An athlete’s performance during the combine affects their draft status, salary, really, it affects their whole career. Dr. Byrd began this trek in 1997 with the then Tennessee Oilers. It is rewarding to see athletes that we have taken care of come through heathy and ready to vie for a spot on a team roster.
